Forever Home Program

At Foley Dachshunds, our dogs are family members first—always. When a dam or sire completes their role in our breeding program, our priority is ensuring they enjoy a loving, relaxed life as a cherished companion.

Retirement is not an end; it’s a new beginning.

  • Life After Breeding

Our retired dams and sires have given us so much, and they deserve a future filled with comfort, love, and individual attention. Some retired dogs remain with us permanently, while others may be placed in carefully chosen homes where they can enjoy being the center of attention as a beloved pet.

Each retirement placement is approached thoughtfully and with care, always putting the dog’s best interests first.

  • What Retirement Placement Means

    A retired dam or sire:

    • Has completed their breeding commitment
    • Is spayed or neutered (or will be as part of placement)
    • Is looking for a quiet, stable, loving home
    • Transitions as a companion, not as a breeding dog

These dogs are already house‑raised, well‑socialized, and accustomed to living as part of a family.

  • Ideal Homes for Retired Dogs

We seek homes that can provide:

    • A calm, indoor living environment
    • Patience during the transition period
    • Continued routine veterinary care
    • Plenty of companionship and affection

Retired dogs often do best in homes that appreciate an adult dog’s established personality and enjoy a quieter pace than puppyhood.

  • Our Commitment to Our Dogs

We believe responsible breeding includes lifelong responsibility. Every dog we breed or own is supported for life, whether they remain with us or are placed in a retirement home carefully matched to their needs.

We stay in contact with retirement homes and are always available for guidance and support.

  • Interested in a Retired Foley Dachshunds Dog?

From time to time, a retired dam or sire may become available to the right home. Availability is limited and placement is based on compatibility, not timing.

If you’re interested in welcoming a retired miniature dachshund into your home, please contact us to learn more and be considered when a dog becomes available.
